A house of Quranic learning for the children and youth of our community, where first letters become a lifelong closeness to the Book of Allah.
The Academy
Bayan Academy is a program of Quranic sciences, offered so our community can learn to read, recite, and carry the Quran.
Offered by the MAS Youth Center of New Jersey, Bayan Academy meets a simple need: to give our children and youth a real place to learn the Book of Allah, taught well and taught in person. Today we offer classes in Quran reading and memorization, gathered in this booklet for the 2026/2027 year.
We are only beginning. In the near term we are adding classes; in time, we intend to grow into a comprehensive program of Quranic sciences for children, youth, and adults alike.

Three movements, taught in sequence. Every class is in person and meets once a week for an hour and a half. Reading is the foundation we recommend before memorization begins.
A gentle, joyful first bond with the masjid and the Arabic letters.
Fun time at the masjid: learning the Arabic alphabet and a few dua'as, and memorizing some short Surahs: the warm beginning of a lifelong habit.
Requirements: None. Students should be potty-trained.
Learn the Arabic letters through the Qaedah Nouranehya method and read the Quran independently, with correct pronunciation (Makharij) and Tajweed. For ages 6–12.
The shapes, sounds, and writing of the Arabic letters, taught with the Qaedah Nouranehya, leading into reading real words from the Quran. Textbook provided.
Requirements: None. No prior ability to read Arabic or the Quran is needed.
Review of the Qaedah and steady practice reading the Quran on one's own, with emphasis on Makharij and basic Tajweed. This is the bridge into memorization.
Requirements: Knowledge of the Arabic letters and some ability to read Arabic words.
Memorize the Quran at your own level, with a steady focus on pronunciation and Tajweed. Three levels, placed by each student's ability to read.
Short Surahs memorized at the student's own pace, with proper pronunciation and Tajweed from the very first verse.
Requirements: None. The Qaedah is advised first; moving up to M2 asks for some ability to read Arabic and the Quran.
Surahs from Juz' 30, memorized to each student's ability, with pronunciation and Tajweed sharpened along the way.
Requirements: Some ability to read the Quran. Teachers assess each student and may adjust the level.
Surahs from across the Quran, building on what has already been memorized, with continued care for pronunciation and Tajweed.
Requirements: Reading the Quran independently and memorization of Juz' 30. Teachers assess each student and may adjust the level.

All classes are in person and meet weekly. Fees are monthly, with a discount for each additional child.
